ACCESS Linnaeus Centre invites all affiliated students and post-docs to participate in the first ACCESS Student Workshop on 3 March, 2009.

This will be a day long event held at Hässelby slott. The focus of this workshop is to understand, appreciate and exploit each other's research and to explore collaboration between groups.

Participants are requested to reach the venue on their own and no transportation is organized. Closest metro station to Hässelby Slott is Johannelund. You find directions on Hässelby Slott's homepage under link "Hitta hit".

Call for posters

You are invited are also invited to contribute to the poster session where they get an opportunity to display, share and present their latest research initiatives to ACCESS colleagues.

Since we strive towards uniformity in format, we urge you to use attached latex template to generate the posters.

Deadline 20 February

The deadline for poster is 20 February, so that we will be able to print your poster in time for the workshop. We kindly ask you send in your posters in pdf format to Liping Wang.

09.00 – 09.30 Session I: Opening session
• Introductory speech by Prof. Karl Johansson, Director, about ACCESS in general and the workshop in particular

09.30 – 10.00 Coffee

10.00 – 11.30 Session II: Introduction to ongoing research projects

• Traffic Control : Ólafur Helgason
• Wireless Sensing and Actuation : Chithrupa Ramesh
• Active Estimation : C. Rojas
• Radio Resource Management : M. R. Bhavani Shankar
• MOBBESKAJP : Ilias Chatzidrossos
• MONITOR : Fetahi Wuhib

11.30 – 12.30 Lunch

• The program committee will bring all the posters to the venue. During lunch, the authors are requested to collect their posters from the committee members

12.30 – 14.00 Session III - Parallel Group discussions

• Six groups based on the six projects listed above
• Session will be co-ordinated by the respective Session II presenters
• Students choose the group discussion to attend based on the presentations in Session II
• All students have to prepare a 5 minute informal presentation introducing themselves and their research
o Presentation style left to the student hoping to let the creative juices flow
• Discussions for fostering joint research

14.00 – 16.00 Coffee + poster/ demo session

• Authors put up their posters
• Aim is to further continue the discussions of Session III
• A brief presentation on outcome of these discussions to be handed to the corresponding group discussion co-ordinators. The presentation must include
• Names of collaborators, Area of research, Mode of collaboration, Goals and steps towards strengthening the collaboration

16.00 – 17.00 Session IV: Closing session

• Group discussion co-ordinators or their nominees summarize the presentations from their group. Each group will have 10 mins
• Authors take down their posters at the end of the session and would be responsible for their posters henceforth.

17.30 - 21.30 Dinner

• Performance by the Students’ theater
